D. Napier & Son of London, makers of the
famous Lion aero engine.
Letter addressed to Henry Woodhouse at Scientific Age magazine in New York City from the Managing Director at D. Napier & Son in London.
Very nice letterhead with raised lettering in the heading.
Content of the letter: The D. Napier & Son managing director is sending Woodhouse a letter stating that the company has a new address in London
Letter:
H. Woodhouse, Scientific Age, 17th September 1926
Dear Sir,
Please note that we have disposed of the lease of our premises at 14, New Burlington Street, London. W.1.
All communications, therefore, on and after 25th. September 1926, should be addressed to our Head Office and Works, 211, ACTON VALE, LONDON W.3.

The Napier Lion was a 12-cylinder, petrol-fueled 'broad arrow' W12 configuration aircraft engine built by D. Napier & Son from 1917 until the 1930s
. A number of advanced features made it the most powerful engine of its day and kept it in production long after other contemporary designs had been superseded. It is particularly well known for its use in a number of racing designs, for aircraft, boats and cars."
D. Napier & Son began business in Great Britain in 1808 and was known for precision engineering.

. Henry Woodhouse was a significant figure in early aviation and helped to found the Aero Club of America; he was an early advocate for the use of the aeroplane and was the publisher of such 1910's magazines as
Flying
and
Aerial Age
. We will be listing over one thousand original early aviation photos, early century press photos, negatives and documents over the next few months.
