Colonel Roscoe Turner, speed ace, who won the Thompson Trophy Race at the National Air Races, Cleveland, Ohio, shown with his trophy after the presentation by former Senator Hiram Bingham, (second from right).  Turner came on to victory in the same race which saw the death of Doug Davis.

COMMENTS:
This Large Format photo comes from a collection found in an estate in the Shandon, Ohio area just north of Cincy.  It is part of a large collection of these rare images that were collected many years ago by the gentleman who originally owned them, when he was a youth.  This Scarce Giant Oversize photo shows a great glimpse of a Historic Moment In Time.  It will look great framed and matted (to me, the ideal display would be a similar layout to my main picture with the photo above the banner).  I hope you find this piece of history as interesting as I do!

CONDITION:
Photo is Black & White Glossy and does show some signs of aging (may have some bends, creases or curling, look at the pictures closely).  Caption Banner is paper stock.  ~~  It is written that Pictures Are Worth A Thousand Words and those shown here will tell the story of condition better than I can.  So, please look to them for condition and also keep in mind that some things may be exaggerated by the picture's size.  Thanks!
