Carousel Horse hand carved in the style of Dentzel

This hand carved Dentzel style, outside row stander, is a re-creation carved in the manner of one of the most artful carousel makers, during the height of the Carousel industry. I carved it in 2001 to use as an example of turn-of-the-century Philadelphia style horses at fundraising events, raising money for a little carousel I have maintained for the last 37 years restoring, painting and carving replicas. Although it is not an exact replica of any particular horse, it has the stance, features, mane, carved gold eagles and figure carved into the blanket and the trappings of the Dentzel outside row standers.
Outside row standers are large. This one stands 62" tall and is nearly 70" from nose to tail. It is also nearly a foot wide and weighs about a hundred pounds. All of this makes standard eBay shipping difficult, so that is why I picked the "local pickup" box. Shipping will have to be creative - with lots of padding and a strong crate it
certainly
is possible. When
PayPal has the payment, I will then build a box, but the rest of the shipping cost will be the buyer's responsibility. The distance is important when shipping freight; if you are close, we'll use a pickup truck. We can determine those specifics using eBay's message system during the sale.
