    Description

    ITEM
Here is a vintage Lusse 1938 bumper car found in rough unrestored shape.
These are the sharpest model of all the Lusse AutoSkooter cars, and were made from 1938 to 1941.
That means there just can't be very many of these out there.
I took the trim off it and took the body to Redi-Strip in Chicago, and had the tin cleaned.
It needs sheet metal work right away, but I have no time to really do this job right now.
I want to sell it, and let it go to make room here.
It comes with parts of the lower frame work, with rubber bumpers, and the original steering column.
There is no front motor, no turntable, no steering mechanism, or rear wheels.
I was going to make a new wood floor, and get it on wheels, with a seat, and make it roll.
Its got parts of the rubber channel, which sits on top of the frame with the angle brackets.
It will need some of these channels rebuilt, to make the lower part original.
It will also need patch panels welded on to make the lower body sit on the wood floor like original.
I have studied the Lusse patents online, and understand how it was all originally put together.
Another idea for this is to use a Cushman Minute Miser, under carriage, to make this a powered car.
Others use these as street rod trailers and other needs for decoration purposes.
Its worth my price in trim alone, and misc parts.
I am sure you will find the trim very solid and restorable, once the chippy paint gets removed.
The trim was all very carefully removed so as not to break bolts off in the aluminum, this took Kroil and heat and time.
I believe the rubber is complete in length, and can still be used in restoration.
The rubber is very heavy by itself.

    Condition
This was stripped down and the trim, grille, side lights, and hood ornament is in great shape.
No cracks or dents in the hard to replace trim.
The long lower side trim bars, are decent for one side and bent on the other.
The lower frame has severe rust pits and 2 segments need replaced.
The lower rubber bumper trim is present but aged and split at one point.
